ICD’s Protection and GBV program is dedicated to safeguarding the rights and dignity of vulnerable individuals, particularly women and children, within the communities served. Recognizing the prevalence of gender-based violence in Somalia, the program provides comprehensive support services, including psychosocial counseling, legal assistance, and safe spaces for survivors. ICD also conducts community awareness campaigns to educate the public about GBV issues, fostering a culture of respect and understanding. By strengthening social norms and empowering individuals to report instances of violence, ICD aims to create a safer and more equitable environment for everyone.
