ICD is a local Somali non-governmental organization registered with the Federal Government of Somalia. The organization is headquartered in Mogadishu, with other office in Baidoa, Beledweyne, Kismayo, Dhusamareb. ICD is non-political and non-religious, serving communities without discrimination.
The organization was initiated in 2005 by a group of Somali intellectuals and well-wishers in response to the peak of conflict, displacement, and humanitarian crises affecting many parts of South Central Somalia. With the support of partners and donors, ICD has successfully implemented more than 30 projects, including emergency relief, rehabilitation, and development programs.
Over the years, ICD has evolved from focusing solely on humanitarian assistance to integrating long-term rehabilitation and sustainable development interventions. Our work addresses the root causes of poverty, marginalization, insecurity, natural disasters, and lack of access to basic services.

To improve the social and economic wellbeing of vulnerable communities across Somalia.

To enhance living standards and promote self-reliance and prosperity through the provision of relief, rehabilitation, and development programs that strengthen local capacities.

To advance and promote access to quality education, safe and clean water, modern farming practices, health care, protection, WASH services, and youth and women empowerment within the communities we serve.
