Food Security and Livelihood

ICD’s Food Security and Livelihood program aims to enhance the resilience and self-sufficiency of vulnerable communities in Somalia. This program encompasses both conditional and unconditional cash transfers that provide immediate financial support to households in crisis, enabling them to meet their basic needs. Through food distribution efforts, ICD ensures essential food supplies are accessible to those most in need. Additionally, the program emphasizes increasing agricultural productivity by offering training and resources that equip farmers with sustainable farming techniques. The Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) further empower local populations by promoting savings and enabling small business initiatives, thereby fostering economic growth and community stability.
